Fussy eaters: tips if your dog won't take it

Some dogs are particular about anything new — but there are a few easy tricks to get even the fussiest eaters taking their NutriPaw supplements.

For treats and soft chews

  • Crumble them over food. Break the treat into small pieces and mix it through your dog's regular meal — most fussy dogs happily eat it this way.
  • Try offering it alongside a favourite food at first.

For powders and food toppers

  • Mix it well through wet food, or add a splash of water to dry food so the powder sticks rather than sitting at the bottom of the bowl.
  • Start by mixing it thoroughly so there's no separate "new" taste or texture for them to pick out.

Prefer a different format?

Several of our products come in more than one format, so if your dog won't take one version, there's often an easier option:

  • All-Itch & Immunity Treats → All-Itch Food Topper
  • Pre, Pro & Postbiotic Treats → Pre, Pro & Postbiotic Powder
  • Calming Treats → Calming Food Topper
  • Dental Formula Water Additive → Dental Powder (or vice versa)

If your dog still won't take their supplement after trying these tips, get in touch — we can look at swapping you to a format that suits them better.
